Cracked Mud in the Dunes, Death Valley NP

Cracked mud in a hollow of the Mesquite Flats Dunes, in Death Valley National Park. The polygon-shaped cracked mud is the remnants of an ancient lakebed, now dried up, hardened, and exposed only in the lowest areas of the Mesquite Flats Dunes.
